That actually kind of killed it for me, because I know that there were no television broadcasts in Britain during the war. I’m not saying that makes it not funny, just killed it for me.
The character of Alf is rather endearing. It shows a true skill that amongst the comedy and such a short amount of time for a sketch you can be made to empathise with a character. Rather stark at the end there too.
@CaleySaints90 yes but that is not as weird as you might think. This video is actually two clips spliced together. On the DVD, they are separated by a number of other sketches, amongst which are one of Brian Butterfield. When the uploader edited this, they managed to get a snippet of the previous sketch at 2:47.
